Segments 1 & 2
Joining me in the studio this morning is the Assistant Track and Field Coach at Newberry College and a contributor to The Heart of a Black Man: Inspirational Stories of Triumph and Resilience released April 30th by Strive International Publishing Group. Here’s a link to the press release. From the release:
The Heart of a Black Man sheds light on the generational pain and psychological wounds that have affected the physical and mental well-being of Black men. It is a message of hope, tenacity, and empowerment that is essential to anyone seeking a better understanding of Black men’s experiences. For those looking to learn and grow from books that empower, The Heart of a Black Man is a must-read.
Welcome to the studio, Coach Duub. Tell us a little bit about you and your story and how you came to be part of this project.
Segments 3&4
Jen Roberson is a photographer, entrepreneur, and author. Jen describes herself as a fun-loving free spirit who loves Jesus, people, photography, and publishing books. Her first young readers’ novel, The Wonderful Wandering Wagon, teaches valuable lessons about business, entrepreneurship, and responsibility through a magical journey four siblings take with their grandfather’s cat.
Welcome to the studio, Jen. We met through 1 Million Cups, the Wednesday weekly entrepreneur meet-up and Dan Andrews, our mutual pal in that space. But books weren’t your first business, photography was. Have you always had an entrepreneurial spirit?
This book was a family effort. Tell us about the inspiration for the book, the help you got from husband Joe and your kids, and what’s in store for the rest of the series.
